I had the great fortune of recently attending an energetic and informative meeting hosted by the Enterprise Center in Salem featuring Massachusetts Sixth Congressional District Congressman Seth Moulton along with Former State Treasurer Steve Grossman, CEO of Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) based in Boston. It was the day after the Super Bowl so there was a an exciting vibe in the room for the Patriots win and the presentation from ICIC.
A program of ICIC is Inner City Capital Connections (ICCC) which has an 11-year track record of helping companies grow and access capital. Businesses that enter the program face a variety of challenges, but exit the program with practical knowledge, a robust network and a plethora of capital connections they draw from. ICCC alumni have created over 11,000 jobs and secured more than $1.3 billion in capital. On average, alumni also experience a 56% increase in employment and a 23% increase in revenue CAGR. ICCC is looking for small businesses from the greater Newburyport area that are looking to grow and access capital. Here is a link to their 2016 Impact Report.
ICCC alumni have utilized ICCC as their secret weapon to growing their businesses and accessing capital. The program has accelerated the success of thriving companies such as Sundial Brands, Revolution Foods, TerraCycle, American Christmas and many more. This program is free to businesses that complete an application. If you are interested please contact me and I will be glad to put you in touch with ICCC staff so that they can answer your questions!
