Overnight stays in Newburyport are truly a treat. All of Newburyport’s inns and B&B’s are housed in historic buildings and retain the flavor of old Newburyport. Spend a night at one of our historic inns and experience our city’s rich history.

Historic Inns

The Clark Currier Inn was the home of Thomas March Clark, a nineteenth  century sea captain and shipbuilder on the Merrimack River. It is an 8-room Bed & Breakfast with private bath, AC, and afternoon tea. Gardens with gazebo and outside sitting areas. Please see detailed listing below for Clark Currier Inn.

The  Greenleaf Inn  (pictured at left) on State  Street actually started out as two houses. A colonial from the 1700’s was originally on the site and later a Federal home from High Street that was moved and added to the house. The Greenleaf Inn is one of Newburyport's true treasures.

The Garrison InnHotels

The Garrison Inn (pictured at right), on Brown Square, was built by one of Newburyport’s most illustrious citizens, Moses Brown, a rum trader who amassed a fortune. The inn was named after William Lloyd Garrison, the famed abolitionist who was born in Newburyport and whose statue graces Brown Square.
